Cocogiri Island Resort Maldives

Two amazing weeks on this beautiful, tranquil island.Our first trip to the Maldives for a big birthday celebration. Cocogiri didn’t disappoint. It is a peaceful and wonderfully relaxing place. Tina was absolutely amazing, she was always on hand to help with any problems or requests. Faultless service by all the staff from the grounds staff raking the beaches ,to the chefs and their assistants.The food was exceptional, with a wide range of choices, rarely repeated dishes during our stay. The restaurant staff were superb with a special mention to Murkesh , Dave and Vinnie on the bar. The best couples massage by the ladies in the spa, so good we went back. As if we weren’t already relaxed. The trips were first class, especially the shark and turtle trip. Gan and Sarah in the dive centre were superb. We had a beach villa which was exquisite,kept exceptionally clean every day,by the house keeping team. This place is 11/10, if that’s possible. Thank you Tina you are all truly amazing, we will be back.

This is our 2nd visit to Cocogiri and won't be the last. The first time we stayed for a week and came back for two weeks staying in an overwater villa again. For us the island is perfect, it's small and compact and offers plenty of relaxation/snorkelling/diving and eating with great service. We had a couple of minor issues on the island which Tina and the team went out of their way to fix. I could not fault their help! The rooms was excellent as always, the AC unit filters needed a clean to quiet them down but once this was done it was a lot more bearable. The room was kept spotless and stocked up by the cleaning guys. The view of the reef is just amazing. Food is so so good. The current chef does an amazing biryani, whenever it was on it made me very happy. The breakfast is always so good, I'm sure my blood sugar went through the roof on this trip. In terms of drinks, the cocktails are ok, my only gripe with the island is the beer. Carlsberg :( I travel 20 hours and have a beer made 15 minutes from where I live haha! Sarah and Gan in the dive shop were amazing as always along with captain Adam on the boat. Thy really looked after us on our diving trips, fishing trip and ride over to see the rays! I felt safe at all times whilst diving despite some really hard conditions. We saw so much when diving, sharks, rays, turtles, nudibranchs, and so much more. The highlight was having a curious eagle ray take a keen interest in me during a deco stop! I did a couple of night dives with Sarah and they were my favourite dives I've ever done. The reef is so different at night and the sounds/colours are so much more intense under torchlight. She made us turn our torches off during the deco stop and we were glowing in the bioluminescence!!! It was just so magical. The reef is a lot healthier than the last visit, so much more life when we snorkelled. A concerning amount of trigger fish are there now! We saw moray eels, turtles, tons of sharks, squid, pufferfish, and so much other stuff. We cannot wait to come back and as soon as the flights for next year are up we will rebook for sure!!!

Just returned from a most fabulous and amazing holiday at CocoGiri Resort..... for the past 10 days we experienced paradise on an idyllic island. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were treated to the best that life can give by Tina (Manageress) and her staff. Huge credit goes to Tina- I can't imagine all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure each guest has their own unique and wonderful time on their holiday, such a genuinely kind, caring lady who wants the best for her guests and staff. The staff go out of their way for you and we were greeted everyday with warm genuine smiles and respect which left us feeling very humbled indeed. All this kindness and warmth has certainly revived my soul. The 'escape' from a stressful world I highly recommend, I actually found my inner peace and have never felt so relaxed. So often we all found ourselves saying over and over- "beautiful", "amazing", "can't believe we are having this experience".. its given us memories that we will treasure forever.. it was perfect for us...Thank you Tina and all staff, you have beautiful souls. The island is stunning, the food exceptional and ambience so relaxing and friendly. We snorkelled every day and the beautiful fish we swam with was incredible. Despite my lifelong fear of sharks I actually went on a trip and swam with them, turtles, and a sting ray-wow! The staff helped to promote confidence and reassured us that we would be well looked after, and we were. Another unforgettable experience we are blessed to have had. Each morning we woke and walked straight onto a beautiful beach which set us up for yet another wonderful day ahead. We met such lovely people who have become friends... and we all plan to visit again next year. Feel very blessed to have experienced such an amazing holiday... thank you ... see you all next year

It is like my second home. All staff can't do enough for you. Tina is like sister I never had. We had wonderfultime together. My grand daughter enjoyed well. Water sports is great. Food is out of this world. Wonderful sunrise and sunset. Any one with additional needs is accommodated well. I have already paid for next year stay.. my countdown starts from today. Never bye to Cocogiri will see you 2026.

This was our second visit to this tiny island and it didn’t disappoint. We visited last year and really fell in love with this no frills, old school Maldivian island. We had a short wait at Male for the speed boat which was fine, there had been bad storms over night. Once we arrived we were shown to our water villa, it was beautifully presented, and in an ideal location at the end of the villas. The reef sadly is not as good as last year, a lot of the coral, has been bleached, and has died, and stood on by guests. It is however still very easily accessible and fish soup, still lots of marine life to be seen. The communal areas were spotlessly clean and well maintained, the island is growing well and it is becoming more green. The food! What can I say…… it never disappointed, the food is beautiful, lots of choice, always hot, and beautiful. The staff are a real asset to the management team and island, always happy to help and have a friendly chat. All over seen by the lovely Tina, always happy to chat, to help with any queries or requests, such a lovely lady that goes out of her way to make your holiday amazing. For context this was our 12th visit to the Maldives. We all know the journey from the UK is not always a good one but arrival at your Maldive Island makes it all worth while. Cocogiri is no exception. It immediately relaxes you making you instantly forget the previous 24hrs. In contrast to some of the larger more flashy resorts we have stayed on we chose Cocogiri due to its small size and its laid back relaxed style. We wanted a more authentic experience with a no news no shoes approach. We were not disappointed. Room We had a Water Villa which was beautiful, right on the drop off with spectacular views of all the sea life. An amazingly comfortable huge bed with to die for views out over the ocean. The deck was large and we benefitted from a lovely breeze that kept us cool while sunning ourselves. Our favourite thing was the outside shower on the deck that provided us with a hot shower after every snorkel. Restaurant Much nicer than the photos on the website make it look, also much bigger and brighter. Lovely open sea views and plenty of space to relax during meals. The food was excellent. Buffett style, always fresh, always hot, plenty of choices and everything was topped up regularly in small amounts. Salads were exceptional, curries were tasty and European choices were also very good and plentiful. We were more often than not spoiled for choice. Compared to some more expensive islands we have been to the food was very very good. Bar Also very good, quiet and relaxing to sit and sip the great selection of drinks available. Chairs on the deck area were very comfortable and we often found ourselves apparently glued to them, unable to move, forced to reorder drink after drink! The small pool area is next to the bar and handy for a dip. We didn’t use it very much preferring instead the ocean off our deck. Reef This for us was the absolute highlight of the holiday - everyday! We chose the island due to the reef surrounding the island 100% and it did not disappoint. Split into 3 main areas, all easily accessible, but some areas more suitable for more confident snorkelers. Area 1 was the steep drop off directly available to us from our WV deck. We took maximum advantage of this. Big area for sharks, rays and eels along with a massive amount fish of all types. Area 2 was the more easily accessible area in front of the Beach Villas. Everything was available to see here, plenty of fish, rays, sharks, turtles. An unusually high level of Clown Fish including the bright purple anemones they live in were also easily visible as were Lion Fish, Red Snapper and plenty of others in vast amounts. Area 3 off the larger group of WV's was a little more challenging to reach on occasions but well worth it. To say this area was vast is no exaggeration. The coral here was beautiful. Huge swathes of vivid green, brown and beige coral all full of incredible fish. At low tide you almost felt you were going to end up on the neighbouring island
